This policy explains what lfg.inc stores on your device and which other companies your browser contacts while you use the site. It covers this website and the LFG Support Center at lfg.inc/support. Our separate Privacy Policy covers information you send us, such as a contact form or a newsletter sign-up.
A cookie is a small file a website saves on your device and sends back to the server with every later request. Browsers also offer local storage, which keeps data on your device but never attaches it to a request, so it does not travel to us or to anyone else.
We use local storage and no cookies. The practical difference for you is that what we keep stays on your device. We cannot read it from our servers, and it does not follow you to other websites.
One item, and it exists only because you were asked a question and we do not want to ask it again on every page.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
lfg.consent.v1 |
Local storage | Records whether you chose Accept all or Essential only in the consent banner, and the date you chose it, so the banner stops appearing and any future optional scripts know what you allowed. | Stays until you clear it. There is no automatic expiry. |
This item is strictly necessary in the sense that it is the record of your own choice. Removing it does not break the site. The banner will simply ask again.
We run no analytics on this site as at the date at the top of this page. No page-view counter, no session recorder, no heatmap, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tag manager.
If we add analytics later, they will load only for visitors who chose Accept all, the banner will be shown again so the question is asked fresh, and this page will be updated with the name of the provider and what it stores before anything goes live.
Two parts of the site make a request to a third party. Neither is advertising and neither profiles you, but both receive your IP address and browser details the way any web request does, so they are set out here.
| Service | Where | When it runs | What it receives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mailchimp Intuit Mailchimp |
The newsletter sign-up form | Only when you submit the form. Nothing is sent if you do not use it. | The email address you typed, plus your IP address and browser details. Mailchimp handles it under its own privacy policy as our newsletter provider. |
| rss2json and Medium feed service and article images |
The home page and the Blog page | As the page loads, to fetch our public Medium posts and show their cover images. | Your IP address and browser details. No identifier of ours is sent with the request, and neither service is told who you are. |
These two requests are part of delivering the page you asked for, so they are not held back by the consent banner. If you would rather they did not happen, a content blocker or your browser's tracking protection will stop them, and the rest of the site works without them.
We do not embed social media widgets, comment systems, chat widgets, video players, hosted fonts or advertising networks. Our fonts are served from our own domain.
Change your answer at any time. Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the same link at the bottom of this one, and the banner will reopen. Choosing Essential only is a refusal of anything optional, and closing the banner with the Escape key counts the same way.
Clear what is stored. Clearing site data for lfg.inc in your browser removes the consent record. The banner will ask again on your next visit.
Block it at the browser. Every major browser lets you block cookies and site data for a domain, and the settings are under Privacy in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Blocking storage for lfg.inc means we cannot remember your answer, so the banner will appear each time.
Ask us what we hold. Since nothing here is sent to us, we hold no record of your banner choice. If you have sent us a message or subscribed to the newsletter, the Privacy Policy explains how to reach us about it.
If we add anything that stores data on your device or loads a third-party script, we will update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live. Where the change involves anything optional, the consent banner will be shown again rather than relying on an answer you gave to a different question.
